Bone Broth Elixir

I am not a doctor, but the health benefits of bone broth include improved immune function, better gut health, and improved sleep.  Here’s a recipe that enhances bone broth with flavor and additional beneficial ingredients. 

Bone Broth Elixir

1 tablespoon honey (we like manuka honey)
Juice of half a lemon
1 tablespoon miso (optional, but adds probiotics and rich flavor–add ½ teaspoon salt if omitting)
2 tablespoons coconut aminos or tamari
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
1-quart bone broth (preferably unsalted or low sodium), minus about a ¼ to fit in the jar

In a quart-size ball jar or similar container, add the honey, lemon juice, miso paste, coconut aminos/tamari, and fresh ginger.

Add the bone broth and close the container with an airtight lid. Shake very well to combine.

When ready to enjoy, shake again, add to a mug and warm slightly to enjoy.
